We had twice the people from last year! Sponsors were displayed all night, with Sonny Melendrez as our M.C. Each table had a different country, with END POLIO campaign literature and table I.D. (thank you Maxine for hours and hours of meticulous decorations at each table) Casino tables each had a sponsor (identified at each table)and the tables were open for two hours of a vigorous pursuit of happiness! HUGE silent auction this year, as well as Grand prizes of a diamond necklace, a Mini-Cooper for the weekend, and wine tasting parties.
Margaret Porter, Auction Chair, with past member Carlos Pena of Jefferson Bank B.J. Duncan and Diane Flack fight it out over a silent auction item... One of many, many silent auction items bid on tonight, with the most notice-able display! Yes, a real tree at the auction table! Wayne Duncan had the winning bid, and discovered he had to take it home at midnite tonight...interrupted his club hopping...sorry Wayne Duncan, past president, salutes his auction win of
President-Elect Josh Loden with his wife Jackie Karen Tyler (second from the left) had a table, as well as securing a SAMMinistries table too! Team Bordelon with Diane Flack and Susan Finch pose as The Two Redheads
(David Flack is our current president, and Nelson Finch is one of our past presidents). Nelson Finch, our second SORC president 2003-2004, did double duty at the Wine station - our very first Wine Tasting was in his bank's lobby many years ago, and here we are at our 4th Annual Event with him still pouring!
Sarah Bass (SORC Service Projects Chair) worked a Wine Station aptly named Dayton Schrader is ready to win! District Governor-Elect Stephanie supports our event, and has chosen President David as her District 5840 Secretary for 2010-2011 (hence, his reaction..) Melissa (SORC Board of Directors) and husband Larry Bullerwell are both in town and attended Vince Nazzaro, past president, and John Tidmore, incoming board member, clean up well (grin)
Michal Moore, Membership Chair and Monthly Newsletter Editor, with Todd Westbrook, her escort for the evening. Special thanks to our sponsor!
one of two cakes (yes, we had THAT many people attend) celebrating 105 years of Rotary. Chocolate cake as popular as the other white cake ~ HEB did a great job for our inscription
