Presentation Check for SAMMinistries ~ our first District Simplied Grant coupled with club fundraiser earlier this year Karen Tyler with SAMMinistries wrote our first SORC matching grant accepted by District 5840, and will be on our SORC Board starting in July as a Director; pictured here with President-Elect David Flack, who congratulates her hard work as both a Rotarian and Development Officer for SAMM President Bob presents a BIG check to President/CEO Navarra Williams of SAMMinistries Past President Vince Nazzaro with Natalie Bates, now our Ambassadorial Scholar ($25,000 ! ) for 2010-2011 to Spain, (see April 2007 for her last visit) Chief of Police McManus was an excellent speaker!
The chocolate wheel always gets a smile ~ we are so grateful for the Chief's time today! Swedish Midsummer wreaths delivered by departing member Lizette Odfalk to President Bob and President-Elect David (she's transferring to the Spanish-speaking provisional club July 1, 2009) Very impressive presentation by San Antonio River Authority's Steven Schauer,our final speaker of this Rotary Year. Bob delivers a book in his name, one of 42 donated this Rotary year to Canyon Ridge Elementary School!

President Bob presents Kent Kirkman with Rotarian of the Year (spontaneous standing ovation followed!)which is the highest honor at the club level, reflecting dedication and results Jack surprises his wife Mary Elizabeth with the highest honor a club member can award a non-Rotarian: PAUL HARRIS FELLOW Rotary U graduates: Bachelor's degree to Karen Tyler & Dean Perry; Master's degree to Kent Kirkman; Doctor's degree in Rotary Science to David Flack (note: STONE OAK was the very first club to have a Doctor's degree recipient at the District level out of 57 clubs and 3,000+ Rotarians!)
