The Club at Sonterra Ballroom is set for Awards banquet, with LOTS of awards! The new Rotary Just before we open the doors... The 6th Annual Awards banquet is about to begin ~ we chartered in this same room in 2002! Patti Bordelon (Bob's wife) and Renee Perry (Dean's wife)

Anne and Jim Veltri, past Rotarian of the Year Chuck and Heidi Burgess ~ Chuck was very helpful in the early years of our club, while remaining a member of Alamo Heights Rotary Club (our sponsoring club in 2002) Virginia and Peter Lazidis, now an Honorary Member and our first President 2002-2003 Ray Wenzel, our Sgt-at-Arms and possibly the new Dean of Rotary U for our club (he is remaining our Sgt-at-Arms for 2008-2009). Nancy and Vince Nazzaro, Immediate Past President and
DGN Reggie Williams (DGE on July 1st) and AG Chris Byrd share the fun with us as our honored guests. Burnedette Cleo and Michelle Garza before they were both to receive their awards. Cleo is our Membership Chair and Michelle was instrumental in forming our Youth Act Club. The dapper PDG John Holcomb is joining the 2008-2009 SORC Board as RI Foundation Chair. We are honored he chose our club years ago as his home club. Josh and Jackie Loden enjoy the evening; Josh is out outgoing Treasurer and incoming President-Elect Nominee (VP) for 2008-2009.
Erin Nevelow knows how to have a good time! Newell and Al Slavin (now an Honorary Member) ~ his original art donations really enhanced our Jill and Jim Johnstone, incoming Treasurer 2008-2009; Jim donated meeting space for our Board meetings this year. Raul Hinojosa is our Club Administration Chair, now entering his third year in that role for 2008-2009. Dayton and Kendall Neal Schrader were glad they came!

Wayne, Bob, David, Ray, Raul, Margaret,Rick,Stephen, Cleo, Josh and Vince (not pictured were Melissa Bullerwell and Tammy Ramirez and Betsy Dippo who were unable to attend) Distinguished Service Awards for SORC's continuing presence at Alamo Heights Night were given to Peter Lazidis and Rick Riely.
Immediate Past President Vince gets a Distinguished Service Award for his work with Interact at both the club and District level. Margaret Porter and Bob Bordelon received Distinguished Service Awards for their work on the Wine Tasting Event. David Flack rec'd a Distinguished Service Award for his work on both the club and District web sites. David Flack is our Rotarian of the Year for his 42 Programs, multiple web sites, Rotaract What a night!
David gets another pin! Ruby was surprised by Wayne's award! AG Chris continues his tradition of giving something to the incoming president to remind them of Rotary; incoming President Bob Bordelon receives the lighted sculpture with the MAKE DREAMS REAL motto for 2008-2009. President Wayne presents a special award for Michelle Garza's efforts in getting our Youth Act club started. Thank you Michelle!
